Considering the growing importance of sustainable values and environmental responsibility, your task is to redesign the packaging of a product you frequently use to better reflect these concerns.
1. Choose a product
Select a product you use often. This could be a food item, a household product or a personal care item.
2. Analyse the current packaging
Identify the materials used in this product’s packaging. Does it use plastic, paper, metal or other materials?
Consider the design features, such as shape, size and usability.
3. Environmental impact
Think about how the packaging affects the environment. Consider whether it is recyclable, the resources required for its production, and any other associated environmental impacts.
4. Propose a redesign
This may involve:
Suggesting eco-friendly materials that could replace the current ones (eg recycled paper, biodegradable plastics). Thinking of simple changes that could reduce material use or make the packaging easier to recycle (eg smaller size, fewer components, reusable parts). 5. Explain your redesign
Briefly explain how your redesign will help the environment.
Consider how consumers will respond to the new design. Will the packaging still be practical and attractive?
