Aqualisa segmentation, and possible improvement

AquaLisa

The pie chart below is an attempt to illustrated Aqualisa's market segmentation, focusing on three primary groups please note that these are guesstimates not actual numbers and this is just what I deduced from reading the article:

1. Plumbers (50%): The largest segment, plumbers play a crucial role as intermediaries in recommending and installing showers. But that did not go well. Could’ve gone better if they were given training for free and we’re being asked by consumers to provide the goods that might motivate them to get the training.

2. Consumers (30%): End-users looking for a better shower experience, influenced by either personal preference or recommendations. That didn’t go so well because they didn’t have access to it. this could change if they engage more on online retailers like Amazon giving them reviews from other customers.

3. Developers (20%): Property developers and contractors, seeking cost-effective and reliable solutions for housing projects. This could have been better with perhaps offering payment plans for bulk sales because this group cares about the bottom line.

Nevertheless, I think, in order to create a better segmentation strategy they should consider more of a pull platform, directly engaging consumers and creating demand for the Quartz shower by addressing different customer needs, behaviors, and psychographics.

Recommended Segments based on a pull strategy:

1. Early Adopters

-Tech-savvy individuals who value innovative, high-end products and are willing to pay a premium for better performance. That is lasting.

- How: Highlight Quartz's cutting-edge technology, sleek design, and superior performance in targeted advertising (e.g., social media, home improvement shows). Use digital channels to engage this group with interactive demos and online reviews.

2. Families that want Convenience:

- Busy families or individuals looking for reliability and ease of use, who prioritize convenience and safety like consistent water temperature.

- Focus on Quartz’s simplicity (like Apple did) of use and safe temperature control. Use family-oriented advertising in media, showcasing how the product simplifies daily routines. Partner with home improvement influencers on these peoples Instagram accounts, Pinterest accounts, TikTok accounts, etc.

3. Eco-Conscious Consumers

- Environmentally aware consumers who care about water conservation and energy efficiency.

- Emphasize the Quartz’s efficiency and eco-friendly benefits. Market this feature through sustainability platforms, eco-friendly product listings, and targeted online campaigns and even see if you can get tax incentives for installation through government. The same way the solar panel people did.

4. DIY Enthusiasts

- Homeowners who prefer installing products themselves or seek personalized home improvement solutions. - Position Quartz as easy to install for DIY consumers. Advertise through DIY blogs, YouTube tutorials, and home improvement retail websites. And possibly have a stand at the B&Q or Home Depot or Costco with a person explaining it so that if they have any challenges, they can reach out. Inundate the Internet with YouTube videos that train people uninstallation or problem shooting.

5. Luxury Renovators

Hotels that need updates and construction companies that turn buildings around that want to have a certain image, modern, luxurious touch without major hassle.

- Promote Quartz in high-end design magazines, commercial shows, and luxury real estate platforms, showing how it adds value to homes and hotels. So it’s a partnership of riding on each other’s reputations.

Re: Aqualisa segmentation, and possible improvement

I included them because from my experience the target does not have time to specialize in showers and alot of the time will trust the experts to advise them and bring options.
